Frequently asked questions.
How do I know what spindle length I need?
What you need to do is measure the thickness of the material that you are going to make a clock out of, eg., CD clock, plate, photo, bogwood, glass. From that you will be able to tell whether you require a short, medium, long or extra long spindle.
Do I have to use a second finger?
No. The second finger can quite easily be removed from the brass cap by just holding it gently with your fingers on either side of the bush and pressing down, the brass cap will then pop out. All you need to do is put the brass end cap onto the end of the spindle and your clock will be finished.
Can I use my existing hands with these movements?
No, the chances of your current hands fitting a new movement are extremely unlikely. We would therefore recommend that you choose hands with your order, please remember that one pair of hands and second finger/end cap is automatically included in the cost of the movement. Please note we do not sell movements on their own.
What size battery do our quartz movements use?
All of our quartz movements use a standard AA battery unless otherwise specified.
